Reha Akcakaya was born in Ankara in 1963. He studied engineering, science and management. He worked as a manager in technical institutions. His photographs have been accepted to national and international exhibitions, invited to exhibitions and published. He received awards in national and international competitions. He translated books on the art of photography, wrote reviews, participated in radio and TV shows, and gave lectures. Reha Akcakaya has concentrated his work on black-and-white infrared photography.
